Wishwashi Pool is located right in the heart of the desert in a stunning wadi
A 10 km hike, about 2-4 hours (depending on Stalbet) from Ras a-Shaitan, Nuweiba and Taba
Suitable for hikers and part of the route has ladders and ropes.
The price for the trip is 60 NIS (when I left Adam Camp in Ras a-Shaitan)
A few hours attraction to Wadi Washi-washi
Leave with a van (in Bagaj) and a local driver from the beaches heading east into the heart of the desert. After a 20-minute drive from Ras a-Stan, you reach the stopping point of the car, descend and follow a 3 km (half hour) route through the desert between rock crevices until you reach the wash washi pool.
After resting for an hour or two and a million jumps into the water (which by the way are very frozen), depending on your driver’s larginess – return to the vans.
Who is the trip to the Wadi suitable for?
It’s about walking and climbing between rock crevices in the heat and desert sun for a length of 3 kilometers, there were friends with me who had a small walk but on the way we met people for whom walking was a bit challenging. Do the thinking with them, I enjoyed the road as much as I enjoyed the pool and for sure I will come back again.
Wash wash pool
The attractiveness of the place is the jump into the water. The water is not that deep but deep enough for the jump. Jump and climb back up a rope ladder. As I mentioned before, the water is freezing there, but it’s so hot outside that it’s just fun. You can sit up around the pool – there’s shade, and bring snacks and enjoy the desert breeze. Highly recommended trip.
Highlights before heading out to wash wash:
- Wadi Vashi Vashi is not filled with water all year round. Check with the local guys about the state of the wadi before going on a trip.
- You should come with closed shoes / root sandals for walking in the desert
- It is recommended to bring food and water with you as there is nowhere to buy
- Bring your own garbage bags to clean up after you – it’s very important for locals to maintain hygiene
Tiny Instagram Note
The place is stunning, in my personal opinion Wadi Washwashi is one of Sinai’s special places. But know that the water is not turquoise. Water is more prone to greenish color (special green but) than turquoise. I liked it, but filtered photos from Instagram won’t work for you.
Accommodation in huts
I personally like to stay in Ras a-Stan in Sammy’s huts in Adam Camp. I always choose the built huts + toilet and shower (80 NIS per night). Cozy, clean, the food is shell, the service of the guys is excellent and in general always fun at Sami’s. To book a place in Sammy’s senses, it is always available on Adam Camp’s Facebook .
